Dr. Nadine Solaka, OD, MSc.

Dr. Nadine Solaka, OD, MSc attended New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where she received both her Doctor of Optometry and Masters in Vision Science degrees. Prior to that, Dr. Solaka received her Bachelor Degree with honours in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo. During her stay in Boston, Dr. Solaka completed her clinical training at several leading healthcare facilities, such as: the Veteran Affairs Boston Healthcare System, Lahey Medical Center, Boston Medical Center and North End Waterfront Health Center at Mass General Hospital. During her training Dr. Solaka gained advanced experience in contact lens fitting, treatment of ocular disease, pediatric eye exams and pre- and post-operative care for LASIK and PRK.

Dr. Solaka’s background in research focused on affordable vision aids and how these instruments could help provide better eye care in underserved areas of the developing world; where the lack of eye car e professionals is a major global concern. She has presented her work at the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).

Dr. Kevin Tieu, OD, BMSc.

Dr. Kevin Tieu, OD, BMSc received his Bachelor of Medical Science with honours specialization in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences at the University of Western Ontario. He later obtained his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science.

Dr. Tieu received clinical training at leading eye clinics throughout urban and rural Ontario, including facilities in Newmarket, Leamington, Blenheim, Chatham-Kent, Windsor, and Wallaceburg. Because of his diverse training, Dr. Tieu is well-versed in current treatments for ocular conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, LASIK evaluation and dry eyes. He also has a strong passion for myopia control and can provide options to slow the progression of nearsightedness in pediatric patients.

Dr. Tieu has traveled throughout Jamaica on a mission trip in 2019, providing eye care to underserved communities and plans to continue giving back to other countries in the future. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, hiking and photography.

Dr Simranjeet Sander

Dr Simranjeet Sander, Optometrist

Dr Simranjeet Sander graduated with a Bachelors of Science with Honours in Optometry from Aston University, UK in 2013. She completed her clinical training working in both private practice and in Ophthalmology at the NHS Peterborough and Stamford Hospital.

Since 2014, she has worked primarily in primary eye care, gaining an in-depth experience in ocular disease, contact lens fittings and pediatric eye care. She has developed a special interest in myopia control and dry eye management.

In 2019, Dr Sander relocated to Canada and continued her education at the University of Waterloo and is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Dr Sander is very passionate about eye health and promoting optimal eye care to her patients. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new restaurants, travelling and cooking.

Clara is the first person you will meet when you visit or contact the clinic. She brings to the table an eye for style in combination with an extensive knowledge of lenses to help you find that perfect pair of glasses to meet your vision needs and create a new and exciting look.

Clara attended University of Toronto, where she received her bachelor’s degree with honours in science in 2017.

On her free time, Clara enjoys drawing, painting, crocheting, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
